In early 2016, City of Edmonton replaced all of its Ka-band photo radar equipments with MultaRadar (MRCD).
MultaRadar, or MRCD in short, is a mobile photo radar technology from Jenoptik, typically deployed in a container box or a dedicated speed-measuring vehicle. MRCD was first used in Edmonton, and parts of Quebec (stationary), but later became widely adopted throughout Alberta and Ontario.
