How to Program Uniden R7 for Canada

Uniden R7 radar detector is set for official release in mid-April, 2019. Uniden R7 features extreme long-range radar performance, MRCD photo radar detection, arrows for directional alerts, GPS camera database, Quiet-Ride, and Auto-Lock (on beta 1.34 or newer).

Selective settings depend on personal preference (ie. display / arrow colours, voice announcements). Band settings are very much optimized for North America.

MRCD should be activated for Edmonton region, Grande Prairie, Medicine Hat, and certain parts of Quebec, and Toronto (GTA).

Additional settings on the most current v1.35 update:

  • Rear-BAL (rear balance) – 60-70% preferred
  • TSF – On if MRCD is disabled. OFF if MRCD is on.
  • K-Block1 – On
  • K-Block2 – On
  • Auto Mute Memory – On

  2. Wish a one button to go from city / hwy.. not each to go into menu.. city etc etc

    1. Typically we recommend Advanced Settings, set K-band to 60-70%, activate all filters – TSF, K-Block, K-Block2, etc. There’s really no need to go to City or Highway.

  3. Will these setting work for southern Saskatchewan or is there some different types of setup for it?

    1. Most settings are universally the same for all provinces in Canada. Once can decide if MRCD needs to be switched on.
